A day later, incompetent Wolf Blitzer still does not call out Giuliani on his lies

Crooks and Liars report,

Rudy Giuliani came on The Situation Room to attempt to clarify his remarks on Good Morning America and still has his facts wrong.

Of course Blitzer didn't point out how utterly ridiculous that statement is, or some of the other domestic terrorist attacks that happened on Bush's watch as well, so he didn't do much better than George Stephanopoulos' bit of stenography on Good Morning America.

See video of the exchange here.

MMFA has compiled a terror attacks that happened on Bush's watch.

Several domestic attacks took place under Bush, including 9-11 attacks
September 11, 2001 attacks. As CNN noted, "On September 11, 2001, four U.S. planes hijacked by terrorists crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people in a matter of hours."

2001 anthrax attacks. A March 2004 State Department report on "Significant Terrorist Incidents, 1961-2003" quotes then-Attorney General John Ashcroft saying of the letters containing anthrax mailed to various targets: "When people send anthrax through the mail to hurt people and invoke terror, it's a terrorist act." Five people were killed as a result of those letters in the autumn of 2001.

2001 shoe bomber attempted attack. In June 2008, then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff described Reid's December 2001 attempt "to blow up a trans-Atlantic plane with a shoe bomb" as an attempt to "carry out terrorist operations for Al-Qaeda."

2002 attack against El Al ticket counter at LAX. In July 2002, Hesham Mohamed Hadayet opened fire at an El Al Airlines ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport killing two people and wounding four others before being shot dead. A 2004 Justice Department report stated that Hadayet's case had been "officially designated as an act of international terrorism."

2002 DC-area sniper. The state of Virginia indicted Washington, D.C.-area sniper John Allen Muhammad -- along with his accomplice, a minor at the time -- on "an act of terrorism" for one of the murders he committed during a three-week shooting spree across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Muhammad was convicted, sentenced to death, and subsequently executed for the crime.

2006 UNC SUV attack. In March 2006, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill graduate Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar drove an SUV into an area of campus, striking nine pedestrians. According to reports, Taheri-azar said he acted because he wanted to "avenge the deaths or murders of Muslims around the world." Taheri-azar also reportedly stated in a letter: "I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role models, Mohammad Atta, one of the 9/11/01 hijackers, who obtained a doctorate degree."

Giuliani lies through his teeth. Incompetent Stephanopoulos lets him lie

On Good Morning America, Rudy Giuliani falsely claimed that "[w]e had no domestic attacks under Bush. We've had one under Obama." In fact, while Giuliani and other conservative media figures have recently downplayed the number of attacks on the United States under former President Bush, there were numerous terrorist attacks attempted during the Bush administration, including the September 11, 2001, attacks, the attempted detonation of an explosive device on an airplane by shoe bomber Richard Reid, and the anthrax attacks.

More on this here: Giuliani's shameless lies

George Stephanopoulos is incompetent as a journalist and absolutely boring as a TV host. watch. He needs to find a different line of work.

Hypocrite Hannity ok with adulterers Giuliani and McCain but not with Edwards

Right-wing bigot and Fox News mudslinger has been attacking Edwards for the last several days in the most vicious manner possible. Hannity has been asking how Edwards can be trusted as a President when he has been cheating on his wife.

Hannity needs to be reminded of the following:
  • Edwards is not running for President anymore.

  • Hannity shamelessly campaigned for Republican Rudy Giuliani, a serial adulterer.

  • Republican nominee for President, John McCain, is also an adulterer. He cheated on his wife while she was recovering from an accident.

So, according to Hannity's logic, can voters trust McCain as the President knowing that he cheated on his wife?

Alan Colmes, Hannity's milquetoast co-host, gathered some courage the other day and challenged Hannity. Newshounds has put together this great video of that exchange:

HANNITY: I’m not getting this. Explain to me and I’m wondering if you can’t keep
the promise to your family, can’t keep your promise to your wife, you’re having
an affair, you’re lying about the affair repeatedly, why should the American
people trust you when you say you’re not going to lie to them? Why should we
trust you?

COLMES: And by the way, that’s a great question Sean asks and
so Amanda, if that’s true and you can’t trust somebody who had an affair. How
can we trust John McCain to be President of the United States—he cheated on by
his own admission on his first wife, he didn’t keep his martial vows, he didn’t
keep his pledge to his first family…

HANNITY: Thirty years ago after
five and a half years of being a POW.

COLMES: Excuse me Sean. You’ve had
your chance to speak, I’m up. John McCain cheated on his wife, right. Amanda? So
how do we trust John McCain? He cheated on his wife, why do you have a double
standard and John McCain’s running for President? John Edwards is not. John
McCain’s wife was in a car accident. John McCain’s running for President, what
about his affair?

HANNITY: After five and a half years in a POW camp.

COLMES: That has nothing to do with it. So it’s OK to have an affair on
his wife.

Later, Keith Olbermann spanked Hannity on his show:
